Other Atlantic City Stuff!
We've looked for some other fun activities (outside of the city) for you all to try out!
Inside Atlantic City
- The Boardwalk: On June 26, 1870, the first section of the Atlantic City Boardwalk opened along the New Jersey beach. Dr. Jonathan Pitney and civil engineer Richard Osborne began developing the area on Absecon Island in 1850. Long before this time though, the Lenni-Lenape tribe were the first seasonal visitors to enjoy the summer splendor of the island.

Outside Atlantic City
- Wharton State Forest and Batsto Village (Burlington County, NJ): This area is steeped in local folklore, particularly the legend of the Jersey Devil. Wharton State Forest has vast, sometimes desolate, wooded areas, and Batsto Village is a historic, preserved 19th-century ironworks village. The isolation and the Jersey Devil legend can certainly create a chilling atmosphere, especially in October. Some horror films have even been shot here.
- Pine Barrens (Southern New Jersey): The Pine Barrens are a vast, heavily forested region that encompasses Wharton State Forest. It's known for its unique ecosystem, isolated towns, and the persistent Jersey Devil legend. Driving through the more remote parts of the Pine Barrens in October, with the autumn leaves and potentially foggy weather, could certainly evoke a sense of unease and mystery that might appeal to a King fan.
